The Gaming Giant Recruits Popular Battle Royale Producer to Rescue Challenged Action Game Ambitious Title

2K Games has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to oversee the development team at their internal studio, which is currently working on the anticipated over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as Project Ethos.

Leadership Transition Comes After Poor Response

The new appointee assumes the role of studio head at 31st Union following the departure of previous head Michael Condrey, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' lackluster unveiling last fall.

On Wednesday, 2K president a key figure informed staff about this organizational change through an internal memo, which emphasized that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a distinct game identity.

Ismailer noted that the team is now reimagining the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to better meet community desires.

A Pattern of Key Recruitment

The news follows a similar move taken by the publisher in August, when they brought on Rod Fergusson from the Diablo team to contribute to the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
